What is a good item for treating facial acne scars?

I have some mild-moderate scarring from acne on my cheeks and I want to get rid of it. I still get acne so I believe that things like Bio Oil won’t help in this case. I want something that will reduce their appearance but also not cause me more acne. Any suggestions?

Retinol cream… Beauty products that have it in their products can be very expensive. But if you go to GNC or vitamin world they sell a jar of it for $5.99. It really worked for me. I bought mine at vitamin world at my local mall. Try it and read about retinol cream… It’s inexpensive and and it minimized the redness.

  1. There is an awesome face mask that bubzbeauty came up with which really helps with scars: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e–d_n073pc

I can tell you from experience that this works really well, but you have to use it rigorously for a few months to see results. However, if you use this, you’ll get less breakouts, less blackheads, your scars will fade and your skin will generally improve.

What I do is use the mask twice a week and the toner every night after washing my face.

There are also other things you can use to fade acne scars, namely aloe vera gel applied topically, lemon juice (dab it on with a cotton ball once or twice a day, leave on about 15 minutes then wash off), honey (rub it on thinly, leave for about half an hour, wash off), and more. Just experiment a little and see what works.

  3. There are methods that may be used depending on the type of acne scar and on the severity of the condition.

    Medications
Some topical medications, such hydroxy acid, may be used to remove acne scars. In some medicated facial treatments, a chemical called AHA or alpha hydroxy acid combined with Vitamin C, some amino acids and other nutrients, may also be used.

    Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion is a common cosmetic procedure used to even out the skin and remove bumps and red spots. This method of acne scar removal is essentially like ’sanding’ the surface of the skin to remove the dermis or the topmost layer. It can effectively smooth out the skin and reduce the appearance and size of the acne scars. Probably the only drawback to dermabrasion is that it can be quite expensive, with procedures ranging from $1,500 to more than $2,000.

    Skin resurfacing
For this method, laser is often used to remove acne scars. Using pulsed beams of high energy carbon dioxide laser, acne scars can be superficially removed and reduced. The result is a much improved area of skin. Skin resurfacing is actually one of the safest and most effective methods of removing acne scars.

    Surgery
To remove acne scars that have developed raised, excess skin, a surgical procedure may be utilized. This procedure involves excising the skin, removing the areas that show bumps. This is often the preferred method of doctors who have patients with very deep acne scars.
